Ribbons of Blood

A part of me dies every time you say goodbye.
I am saddened by the fact that you were never mine.
Your cold brown eyes pierce through my already worn heart.
The thought of you leaving sends shivers down my spine.

You ripped out my heart even though I fought, teary eyed.
Squeezed and broke it into ruby pieces while I wept and pined.
Ribbons of blood flowed from your wrist to the ground.
You watched me fall then turned and walked away.

There is a dark hole in my chest..
..ever since you ruined the perfect love nest.
Now the beasts have awoken and are out in droves.
Armoured, they take over plains where the light of love once shone.
